The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells
Synopsis
A mysterious stranger, Griffin, comes to town wrapped entirely in bandages. Strange robberies and other incidents begin occurring after the stranger's arrival. The man has rented a room in the inn to use as a lab to develop a formula to reverse his invisibility. While growing increasingly agitated, Griffin encounters a doctor whom he reveals himself to. The doctor recognizes Griffin's insanity and attempts to have him locked away.
